Farta Brutos does not scruple to charge excessive prices to tourists. This
restaurant is a shame for Portugal. If I had visited only this restaurant
on my trip to Portugal it would take me a very bad impression of the
portuguese.
I had dinner with my wife at this restaurant in Lisbon on July 9, 2011 and
was the worst experience of my 14 days travel across the country. We only
ate octopus with rice (18 € per person) called "Filetes de polvo com arroz
de tomate" and also the couvert (bread, olives, tuna pate and butter (3.5 €
per person)). To drink: a 20 cl. bottled sparkling water (3 €), a 33 cl.
water bottle (3 €) and a panache (mixture of beer and soda), also 3 €. He
was one of our last days in Portugal and after touring the country for 14
days, we knew the price of drinks was the double.
When I signed the receipt for the visa I asked the waitress if a 20 cl
bottle of sparkling water costed 3 € and she said in a whisper and looking
down, yes. I also asked if a bottle of 33 cl still water costed 3€ and she
said yes again, embarrassed.
The price of the couvert (3.5 €) is the price list, but I also consider
abusive. They do not alllow you to eat only bread.
Total: 52 € for two octopus with rice, two small waters and a panache and
couvert (two people). Judge for yourself.
The invoice number is 22436 and I keep it for anyone who wants to check it.
